In addition to all that beautiful work, the voice acting is absolutely incredible! I love how the choices in the game don't effect the main story line all too much and that, whatever you choose will lead you to get different animations or voice lines instead! It makes it super fun to see what you're going to get and, honestly, just makes me want to play the game again and again and again just to get all the different ones!!! Stuff that we, as adults, would find wrong or disturbing, shown from the perspective of a child, makes us see that (to them) things in the world aren't labelled as "bad" or "good" and, instead, are just accepted it as normalcy. It really shows just how children see the world. things, in her eyes, are just perceived as normal and innocent.

I love how the world is kind of warped around Misfortune's view and how, even some. The animation style is absolutely adorable and I love how much effort went into every, single, small detail throughout! Even down to little details in the backgrounds that you may not have spotted at first, but when you do, it just adds another layer to how amazing this game truly is! I really, really, REALLY LOVE this game!!! i wasn’t really satisfied with the ending, but maybe there’ll be a sequel? anywho, again it’s a good game if you have a dark sense of humor. Misfortune is surrounded by tragedies big & small at every single moment, yet you can throw sparkles whenever in the game which could help her overcome her fears, giving a nicer image of Misfortune’s overactive imagination over the disaster(s) she just witnessed. there’s some topics that are just tossed in for shock value, but not really addressed again later on. Misfortune follows a voice which guides her along in some sort of game where the reward is “eternal happiness.” it’s pretty incredible how Killmonday Games were able to keep the balance of cute & sinister throughout the game. this game features real-world horrors along with it’s supernatural scares. it’s sort of a choose-your-own-adventure game, but the decisions you make have little impact as the story unfolds. if you have a dark sense of humor then you’ll enjoy playing this. Little misfortune was a pretty good game. ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks This game is not worth the asking price, so if you're still interested in this game, wait for it to go on sale. The game takes less than three hours to complete and the game cost 20$. This game is also extremely short, the only reason I have 9 hours of play through because I messed up my first two runs while achievement hunting. While Fran Bow had gore that made sense to the story line/ mental health take, Little Misfortune likes to go for the gross shock factor with (piss, scat, vomit, fart) jokes that feel like something a 12 year old would laugh at. At the beginning you're told that your choices mattered and that there would be consequences for each choice but in reality they don't matter unless you're achievement hunting and do not change the story at all.
#LITTLE MISFORTUNE RATING SIMULATOR#
The game is essentially a walking simulator and unlike Fran Bow, there's no puzzles. I bought this game because I enjoyed Fran Bow but besides having a few cameo's from the first game's characters and a slight reference to the first games story line, this game is nothing like it. I do like the vibe, the characters and the artsyle of the game as well as the animations but other than that I did not enjoy it much. But ohh boy how much Mr Voice annoyed me, since there is no way to skip or speed up the narration. Would have loved to get to learn more about the world and Benji.īeing a dummie that I am, saving flew right over my head so I had to replay it completely twice to get all achievements + good ending. The narration takes up like half of the game (during which you cannot do anything else as there's a walking animation), the other is slow walking and you don't really have that much to do other than choose between A or B. As well as that, there isn't really much game play and the choices don't really have an impact unlike the game suggests. Unlike Fran Bow with multiple chapters and lots of unique locations, Little Misfortune felt really bleak in comparison. As a huge fan of Fran Bow, I was really excited to see that Killmonday made another game.
